Super slackers from the Sunshine Coast; The Chats are the raucous punk rock trio causing so much racket, you can hear them here all the way from Downunder.

Comprised of guitarist Josh Hardy, bassist and vocalist Eamon Sandwith and drummer Matt Boggis – the three-piece are known for their riotous shows, brash no-fucks attitude and writing some seriously snappy tracks as heard on their killer debut album High Risk Behaviour.

Having just won the AIR Award for Best Independent Punk Album and now showing every sign of gearing up for a second album, The Chats have announced a massive U.K. tour for the new year – tickets on sale with Gigantic HERE!

High school friends Eamon Sandwith, Matt Boggis and Josh Hardy formed The Chats whilst still studying and dropped their self-titled debut EP in 2016, just a month before graduating. The following year, they would return to the studio to write and record their acclaimed second EP Get This In Ya!! which would contain their hit single “Smoko” that would quickly elevate them to cult band status around the world – finding a global audience for their unique brand of "shed rock".

Proving their snotty sound was more than just image, they quickly proved to be a formidable live force with packed out venues and prominent festival appearances seeing both band and audience tear it up in frenzy of punk rock excitement. However, they were still keen to prove there was substance to their slacker style.

At the start we just plugged in, no tuner, just fucking go for it. Now you kind of get to a point where there’s only so far that that can take ya!” – Eamon Sandwith

Whilst the world came to a standstill, The Chats would release their first full length record High Risk Behaviour during March of 2020. Receiving praise from all quarters of the music press, it proved the band were the new sound of Australian youth who shot the record high into the Top 10 in their home country, to later see it win Best Independent Punk Album or EP at the AIR Awards the following year.

Now, The Chats are back in the U.K. with a massive tour planned for March. Not only are you guaranteed a good time whenever they play, there is the tantalizing possibility of hearing new material from a band only just starting to show their potential and could easily be the biggest thing in punk rock since sniffing glue through a safety pin punctured nose.
