New Street Adventure bring you the finest in new wave soul and R&B. Having won praise from The Guardian, Q Magazine and received massive support from the BBC they look set for a fantastic year.
They currently comprise of Nick Corbin on guitar and providing vocals with Gilly Farr on backing vocals and also playing guitar, drummer Ben Wolfe and Ashley Hayden on bass.
The East Sussex band was started by Corbin in 2007 whilst he attended University of Birmingham, taking the name from the cities train station. Whilst there he recruited other band members and they produced the RP An Excuse To Talk, recorded at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, which they quickly followed up with another EP Who Beat Up Jimmy Jazz?
The band began to receive promotion from Ben Sherman before they relocated to London in 2010 and continued to record. Ep Say It Like You Mean It came out in 2012 and featured the single Hangin’ On/Hangin’ Up which would receive prominent airplay by Robert Elms on his BBC London radio show.
The band signed to the record label Acid Jazz and released their first album No Hard Feelings in 2014. Their debut album was recorded in Livingston Studios at Wood Green and included the single Lucky Lady which was featured on the BBC 6 Music Craig Charles Funk & Soul radio show.
