She first gained attention on social media before transitioning into music, releasing her debut EP Pretty Poison in 2021. Her music often explores themes of heartbreak, mental health, relationships and self-discovery, blending pop with darker, alternative influences.
Since then, Barrett has continued to evolve her sound through projects including Young Forever and Jesus Loves a Primadonna, building a reputation for creating music that feels deeply personal while embracing theatrical, cinematic elements.
Her latest album, Tough Love, explores the darker side of romance, drawing on obsession, fantasy and heartbreak. Released in 2026 the album blends dark trip-hop with guitar-driven sounds, influenced by artists such as Massive Attack, Portishead, Alice in Chains and Fleetwood Mac. Across songs like “Bunny,” “Candy” and “Dracula,” Barrett explores desire, passion and complicated relationships through both personal experiences and imagined characters. Ultimately, she describes Tough Love as being about “the darkest and toughest parts of love”, and the struggle to find it.
