Negative Frame are a London-based metallic hardcore band formed in 2017, born out of a shared frustration with the monotony of daily life and a desire to create something raw and powerful. Their name, inspired by the biblical story of the Shroud of Turin, reflects their belief in the subjective nature of perception and interpretation. Since their debut EP Pestilent (2018), they've been known for their explosive energy, hard-hitting riffs, and emotionally charged performances. Their sound blends elements of hardcore, metal, and thrash, drawing influences from bands like Acid Bath, Disembodied, Tool, and Lamb of God.
Negative Frame's journey has seen them evolve both musically and in their reach. After launching their debut EP at a show with Discharge in 2018, they embarked on several DIY tours, headline shows, and radio interviews, quickly gaining a dedicated following. Their 2023 EP Mercy Killing showcases a darker, more death metal-influenced sound, with tracks like “Earthquake” and “Heat of Hell” highlighting their growth and versatility. The band continues to be an active force in the UK hardcore scene, with plans for European tours and collaborations with other prominent acts.
