Their music fuses folk, rock, reggae, soul and R&B into socially conscious and deeply personal songs, often dealing with themes of identity, healing, environmental justice and indigenous heritage. Nahko born to a Puerto Rican/Native American mother and Filipino father, adopted and raised in Portland, Oregon—began playing piano at six and guitar at fourteen, busking and performing before forming the band.
Their discography includes On the Verge (2012), Dark as Night (2013), HOKA (2016), Take Your Power Back (2020) and TRENCHES (2023), among others.
