About More Eaze

More Eaze is the project of Brooklyn-based sound artist and multi-instrumentalist Mari Maurice, a prolific composer whose work refuses to sit still. Moving fluidly between ambient pop, folk and musique concrète, her solo and collaborative releases fold everyday sounds, acoustic instrumentation and electronics into rich, textural compositions. Recurring threads of intimacy, yearning and Americana run through music that slips easily between the mundane and the ethereal, and she has released work through labels including Thrill Jockey, Leaving Records, Longform Editions, Ecstatic and Orange Milk.

Beyond her own records, Maurice is a much sought-after string arranger, pedal steel player and producer, lending her touch to recordings by artists such as Claire Rousay, Lomelda, Fashion Club, Martha Skye Murphy and Nick Zanca. She is also a committed collaborator on stage, performing regularly in the duos Pink Must, with Lynn Avery, and whait, with Wendy Eisenberg. Live, her sets are absorbing and quietly adventurous, turning small, familiar sounds into something genuinely transporting.
