Glasgow-born singer-songwriter Michael McGovern has rapidly established himself as one of the standout voices in contemporary folk, blending poetic lyricism with intricate nylon-string guitar and an increasingly expansive sound.

Following the breakout success of his single ‘Evelyn’, his latest album Thin White Road marked a major milestone, earning critical acclaim and securing a place in the charts, further cementing his growing reputation across the UK and Ireland.

When Paul Mescal publicly shared his adoration for ‘Evelyn’, Michael’s career soared to new heights. In March he completed a 26-date sold-out tour of Ireland, followed by a three-night sold-out run in London in May, boasting a fast-growing and deeply engaged audience.

Michael’s songwriting is rich in storytelling and atmosphere. Rooted in his signature fingerpicking style, his live shows now open out into the fuller sound of Thin White Road, with more dynamic band arrangements.
