About Martin Hayes

Irish fiddler Martin Hayes takes the traditional music of his homeland into the 21^st century. He has released two albums, including Martin Hayes (1992) and Under the Moon (1995). Hayes is also a member of the supergroup The Gloaming. They have released three studio albums, The Gloaming (2014), The Gloaming 2 (2016) and The Gloaming 3 (2019).

Irish Legerdemain

Martin Hayes' reputation proceeds him, as the long queue outside the Union Chapel, London attested, but even then, hearing him live is a transcendent experience. The Union Chapel is a perfect venue for soloists and small ensembles and Martin's endearing and humorous introductions made his connection with the audience direct and personal. The silence of the audience when he played and the standing ovation they gave him at the end says it all.
