Lawnmower Deth are a cult British thrash and crossover band formed in Nottingham in 1987. Blending thrash metal, hardcore punk and a sharp sense of humour, the band quickly became known for their ferocious riffs, breakneck tempos and irreverent approach to heavy music. Early releases such as Ooh Crikey (1989), the Kids in America EP (1990) and Return of the Fabulous Metal Bozo Clowns (1991) established them as one of the UK’s most distinctive underground metal acts.
Built on velocity, volume and a complete disregard for good taste, Lawnmower Deth combine razor-sharp guitar work with satirical, absurd and often political lyrics. Their chaotic live shows and high-energy performances have earned them a loyal following, with appearances at major festivals including Download, Bloodstock and Damnation. Decades after their formation, the band remain a unique force in British heavy music, delivering thrash and hardcore with both intensity and tongue-in-cheek attitude.
