About Kneecap

Kneecap are a Belfast-based hip-hop trio - Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí - who burst onto the scene in 2017 with the Irish-language single “C.E.A.R.T.A.” Their debut album 3CAG (2018) fused punchy beats, bilingual lyrics and sharp political satire, quickly earning critical acclaim.

In June 2024 they released Fine Art, a sophomore album notable for its fusion of Irish and English, rave-influenced rhythms and collaborations with artists like Grian Chatten and Jelani Blackman. That same year saw the release of Kneecap, a semi-fictional biopic directed by Rich Peppiatt that premiered at Sundance - the first Irish-language film ever screened there.

2026's FENIAN is Kneecap’s boldest and most expansive record yet. Produced by Dan Carey, the Belfast-Derry trio push beyond hip-hop into acid house, trip-hop, dubstep and rave, creating a record that is dark, confrontational, euphoric and deeply rooted in language and identity. From the Irish-language rallying cry of "Éire go Deo" and the political fire of "Carnival" and "Liars Tale" to the solidarity of "Palestine (feat. Fawzi)" and the tender "Irish Goodbye", FENIAN sees Kneecap at their most ambitious and uncompromising.

On stage, Kneecap are known for charged, unforgettable performances. They’ve wowed audiences at Glastonbury’s West Holts and festival stages across Europe, and played their biggest UK headline tour in November 2025, including sold-out shows at O2 Academies in Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham, capped by a major night at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro.

Their live presence often combines energetic music with provocative political commentary, touching on Irish-language rights, working-class Belfast life and international solidarity. Whether blending satire, bold identity and dancefloor energy, Kneecap remain a restless, passionate force in UK and Irish music.
