Sheffield indie-rock veteran turned emotionally nuanced solo artist, blending hometown roots with adventurous contemporary songwriting.
Joe Carnall Jnr is a Sheffield-based singer-songwriter whose career has been rooted in the city’s vibrant indie rock scene. He first came to prominence as the front-man of Milburn, the band he helped form in the early 2000s in Sheffield. Later he expanded his musical horizons through projects like Good Cop Bad Cop — a collaboration with fellow Sheffield musicians that explores punchy, synth-inflected songwriting and personal lyricism.
In his solo endeavours (under the name Joe Carnall Jnr) he delivers a more reflective, evolved musical voice, balancing his indie roots with more experimental textures and matured themes. His live dates in Sheffield (including intimate shows and acoustic matinees) underscore his enduring connection to his hometown scene.
