Hermanos Gutiérrez are the Swiss-Ecuadorian brothers whose intertwined guitars turn Latin, surf and cinematic western sounds into richly atmospheric instrumental music.
Hermanos Gutiérrez are brothers Estevan and Alejandro Gutiérrez, a Swiss-Ecuadorian instrumental duo who have built a sound all of their own since coming together in Zurich in 2015. Across intertwined electric and nylon-string guitars, lap steel and percussion, they weave Latin rhythms, surf twang, western flourishes and a cinematic sense of melancholy into music that conjures wide-open landscapes and quiet, reflective moods. Drawing on their mother's native Ecuador and their family's Peruvian roots, their records feel like journeys through deserts, coastlines and mountain ranges.
The duo have made three albums with producer Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys: El Bueno y el Malo (2022), Sonido Cósmico (2024) and Los Ojos Del Cóndor (2026). The first of these helped earn Auerbach a Grammy nomination for his production. They are also sought-after collaborators, joining Leon Bridges on "Elegantly Wasted" and Natalia Lafourcade on "Luna Creciente". Live, their wordless, richly atmospheric performances invite audiences to bring their own stories and simply let the music carry them.
