Haywire are Boston hardcore through and through. Formed in 2023 and fronted by Austin Sparkman, the band pull from their city's long, bruising hardcore lineage and cut it with Oi! swagger. The songs are short, fast and built for the pit. Debut album Conditioned For Demolition (2024) kicked the door in, and they haven't let up since, firing out the For Better Or For Worse EP (2024), the Shirts vs. Skins split with No Guard (2025) and New England Forever (2026), a split with Boston's own Dropkick Murphys. Their first record for Roadrunner, I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye (2026), was produced by Citizen's Mat Kerekes and recorded partly in Leeds.
But Haywire are at their best in a packed, sweaty room. They once tore through 96 shows across all 50 US states in a single run, have hit the road with Drain, and play the kind of sets where the line between band and crowd blurs and fans scramble to grab the mic. Raw, rowdy and impossible to ignore.
