V excited to see FJM live for the first time. Apart from some really loud shouty people right behind us, loved it. He was fab! His voice was just as amazing in real life. Sound was great, lighting was great, rest of band were great. Much prefer a smaller venue. Felt v intimate.

Joshua Tillman AKA Father John Misty is a former member of indie rock bands Saxon Shore and Fleet Foxes, and has toured extensively with Pacific Northwest artists Damien Jurado, Jesse Sykes, and David Bazan.

Tillman released his first Father John Misty album Fear Fun in 2012 through Sub Pop records, the very same label his forthcoming record I Love You, Honeybear is set to be put out on. When discussing his motivations behind the creation of the name Father John Misty, Tillman paraphrases Philip Roth: "'It’s all of me and none of me, if you can’t see that, you won’t get it.' What I call it is totally arbitrary, but I like the name. You’ve got to have a name. I never got to choose mine."

Follow the release of his album Pure Comedy, he announces a tour which takes him to Portsmouth Guildhall, De Montford Hall at Leicester and Bath Forum during October 2018.
