A piano-led trio redefining progressive pop with soulful depth and cinematic sound.
Exploring Birdsong are a Liverpool-based band whose innovative, guitar-less sound fuses progressive rock, pop, and classical influences. Formed in 2017 by singer and pianist Lynsey Ward, drummer Matt Harrison, and bassist Jonny Knight, the trio have built a reputation for their dynamic arrangements and emotionally charged performances. Their debut EP The Thing With Feathers (2019) introduced audiences to their distinctive blend of intricate harmonies, sweeping piano lines and rhythmic intensity.
Building on that success, their 2023 release Dancing in the Face of Danger showcased a bolder, more textured sound with rich synths and string arrangements. Exploring Birdsong have toured extensively across the UK, performing in cities including London, Bristol, and Manchester, and have earned acclaim for their captivating live energy and musicianship. Passionate and down-to-earth, the band continue to push creative boundaries while remaining firmly connected to their audience.
