The Casablanca-born force who turned Moroccan rap into a global phenomenon, blending Darija, French and English over trap and North African beats.
Taha Fahssi, better known as ElGrandeToto, is the artist who put Moroccan hip-hop on the world map. Raised in Casablanca, he fell for rap as a teenager and released his first tracks in 2016, including "7elmet Ado". His real breakthrough arrived with "Pablo" in 2017, closely followed by his debut EP Illicit (2018). What truly sets him apart is his sound: he weaves together Darija, French and English, fusing modern trap with North African influences to create something unmistakably his own.
His debut album Caméléon (2021) proved a landmark, landing among Spotify's top global album debuts and dominating the charts at home, while "Mghayer", a moving tribute to his late mother, became his most-watched video. He built on it with 27 (2023) and the mixtape SALGOAT (2024), the latter featuring collaborations with Morad and Ayra Starr. In 2025 he made history as the first Morocco-born artist to headline the OLM Souissi main stage at the Mawazine Festival, performing to a crowd of 400,000. Today he stands as the most-streamed artist in Morocco and one of the defining voices of Arabic rap.
