Genre-defying vocalist and composer whose work with Leprous and solo material combines technical mastery with heartfelt expression.
Einar Solberg is a Norwegian musician best known as the lead vocalist and keyboardist of the progressive metal band Leprous, a group that has earned acclaim for its emotional depth and technical ambition. Born on 28th April 1985, Solberg has helped shape Leprous’ sound from its early days into a distinct voice in modern metal.
Beyond his band work, Solberg embarked on a solo project that scales a different emotional terrain: his solo album 16 (2023) draws on a formative period in his life (aged sixteen to nineteen) and explores transformation, vulnerability and resilience. With Leprous he has contributed to albums such as Pitfalls (2019) and Aphelion (2021) that showcase his wideranging vocal palette—from ethereal falsetto to powerful, gritty delivery—and his willingness to push genre boundaries.
