About Edwyn Collins

Edwyn Collins is a Scottish musician, producer, and record label owner, renowned for his contributions to the post-punk and indie pop scenes. Born on 23 August 1959 in Edinburgh, Scotland, he gained prominence as the lead singer of the band Orange Juice, which he co-founded in the late 1970s. After the band's dissolution in 1985, Collins embarked on a successful solo career, achieving global recognition with his 1994 hit single "A Girl Like You."


In February 2005, Collins suffered an illness which impacted his ability to speak and write. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, he made a substantial recovery and returned to music in 2007. His journey was documented in the 2014 film The Possibilities Are Endless, offering insight into his experience and recovery.


Collins is also known for co-founding Postcard Records, an influential indie label, and later establishing Analogue Enhanced Digital in 2011. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various artists and continues to influence the music industry. In March 2025, released his 10th solo album, Nation Shall Speak Unto Nation, further cementing his legacy in the music world.
