Dub Pistols, The Hairy Dog, Derby - 1st November 2018

Saw them at Bearded Theory and thought "gotta see them in a small club." So we did, last night. Right at the end the whole crowd were invited onto the stage for a rendition of Mucky Weekend. Amazing. I'm knackered from dancing.

Artist Bio

Fusing the attitude of punk with the biggest bad beats around, Dub Pistols are fuelled by their own creative energy and continue to be more in demand than ever. Their work is frequently used in film, TV and even computer games, revealing their flair and stylish cool. They were first formed in 1996 by ex-club promoter Barry Ashworth.

The other members of the band were record producer and bassist Jason O''Bryan, Brooklyn producer and lyricist, T. K. Lawrence on vocals, Jap Slut guitarist John King, and turntablist DJ Stix / Steve Hunt.

Guest songwriters and vocalists include Blade, James Dewes Sheffield (JMS), Rodney King and Terry Hall. In 2008 Dan Bowskill joined the band.
In 1998 they released their album debut Point Blank followed three years later by second jaunt Six Million Ways To Live.

The release of their third album Speakers And Tweeters saw the band begin to enjoy widespread positive attention from the music press Tweeters in 2007. The record featured the vocal talents of ex-Specials singe Terry Hall.
