Irish-American Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys formed in Massachusetts, USA during the 90s and have earned a reputation as one of the hardest working punk bands to remain on the live circuit.
Co-lead vocalist Ken Casey formed the band in 1996, and remains the band's only consistent member since their formation. Known for their lively and energetic live performances, the Dropkick Murphys quickly gained a following thanks to their persistent touring schedule and yearly St Patrick's Day shows.
In 2004, the single "Tessie" earned the band their first mainstream hit, and remains one of their highest-charting singles to date. In the following year, Dropkick Murphys released the single "I'm Shipping Up to Boston", which was featured in the 2006 film The Departed and became the band's first platinum-selling single. Since 2007, the band have released their music through their own imprint label, Born & Bred.
Dropkick Murphys continue to tour extensively across the globe, and in the UK have graced the stages of enormous venues and arenas such as Alexandra Palace and OVO Arena, Wembley.
