Drink The Sea is a supergroup featuring Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Mad Season), Duke Garwood, Alain Johannes, Lisette Garcia and special guest David Catching. Their music draws from a rich palette of global influences, blending guitar, bass and drums with more unexpected textures: Arabic oud, Indian sitar, Indonesian gamelans and percussive layers of surdo, frame drum, marimba and kalimba. The result is a sound that feels expansive, cinematic and deeply rooted in tradition, while still exploring new sonic territory.
Alongside their debut recordings, Drink The Sea have set out to craft music that feels both timeless and adventurous. Their releases showcase a collective spirit where each member’s background adds colour to the whole, moving fluidly between atmospheric soundscapes and powerful, rhythm-driven passages. With plans to bring their richly textured sound to stages across the world, they continue to build anticipation among fans of experimental rock and globally inspired music.
