Del Amitri is a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Glasgow in 1980. The band is known for their melodic rock sound and introspective lyrics. The original lineup included Justin Currie (vocals, bass) and Ian Harvie (guitar). They released their self-titled debut album in 1985, which received modest success.
Their breakthrough came with the 1989 album Waking Hours, featuring hit singles like "Nothing Ever Happens." This was followed by Change Everything (1992), which included the popular track "Always the Last to Know." Their 1995 album Twisted produced one of their most well-known hits, "Roll to Me."
After a brief hiatus in the early 2000s, Del Amitri reunited and continued to tour and release new music. In 2021, they released Fatal Mistakes, their first studio album in nearly two decades, to positive reviews. Known for their catchy hooks and poignant songwriting, Del Amitri remains a beloved band with a loyal fanbase.
