Belfast rock duo reviving classic riffs with modern fire and fearless harmonies.

ALBUM RELEASE: LIVE & SIGNING

Formed in Belfast in 2018, Dea Matrona comprises two school friends, Orláith Forsythe and Mollie McGinn, who not only swap vocal duties but also alternate between guitar, bass and other instruments—keeping their sound fresh and dynamic. They began their journey busking on the streets, leveraging viral cover performances (such as Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well”) to build a loyal following. Since then, they’ve taken that raw energy to UK and Irish stages, including Reading & Leeds, Rock Werchter, Electric Picnic, and proudly supporting acts like KALEO and Chris Shiflett, before launching their first headline tour across the UK and Ireland in 2023.
Musically, Dea Matrona deliver a bold yet melodic blend of rock rooted in classic influences—Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin—spun with modern flair. Their self-produced debut album, For Your Sins, arrived in May 2024 as a fully independent passion project. Stand-out tracks such as “So Damn Dangerous”, “Black Rain”, “Every Night I Want You” and “Stuck on You” showcase their versatility, from snarling riffs to wistful pop-rock charm. The album soared to Number One on the UK Independent Album Breakers chart and cracked the Scottish Top 20, earning them spots supporting Sheryl Crow at Halifax and Shania Twain at BST Hyde Park.
