Dagmar Zuniga is a Nicaraguan-American artist whose music blends psychedelic folk, experimental pop and tape-based recording into something deeply intimate and atmospheric. Working primarily with her longtime Tascam 424 recorder, Zuniga creates songs shaped by layered harmonies, analogue textures and hypnotic repetition. Her debut solo album in filth your mystery is kingdom / far smile peasant in yellow music (2025) was written and recorded across New York, Norway and Athens, Georgia over a five-year period, initially self-released before later receiving a wider release through AD 93.
Drawing inspiration from artists as varied as Syd Barrett and The Fall, Zuniga combines ethereal songwriting with a darker, more experimental edge. Alongside her music, she creates her own artwork, merchandise and visual material, building a fully immersive artistic world around her releases. Following the growing attention surrounding in filth, including a tour invitation from Mount Eerie and appearances such as Rewire Festival, Dagmar Zuniga is quickly establishing herself as one of the most distinctive emerging voices in experimental music.
