For nearly three decades, the name Crowbar has been synonymous with HEAVY. Since rising ominously from the swamplands of New Orleans in 1990, they’ve been hailed internationally as one of the world’s foremost purveyors of crushing, melodic sludge.
The band members currently include drummer Tommy Buckley, guitarists Matthew Brunson and Kirk Windstein taking on lead vocals with Todd ‘Sexy T’ Strange on bass.
Following the release of their most recent record entitled The Serpent Only Lies, they make their way to iconic Nottingham venue Rock City to play a headline set on Thursday 27th of September 2018.

Brooding sludge metal band Crowbar are one of the most influential hardcore bands to emerge from the Louisiana scene.
The New Orleans metal band formed in 1988 but originally worked under the name Shell Shock. Over the next three years they underwent a number of name changes including the titles Aftershock, WREQIUEM and The Slugs before settling on the now familiar moniker Crowbar.
The released debut album Obedience Thru Suffering in 1991. They have continued to write and record, creating an immense back catalogue which includes the titles:
