Charm of Finches are a sister-duo from Melbourne, Australia, known for their intricate, haunting folk-pop songs shaped by seamless harmonies, poetic lyricism, and a deep connection to nature and emotion.
Comprising Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes, the pair grew up immersed in folk traditions, such as Americana, Appalachian, English and Celtic. and began writing together from a young age. They trained in violin and cello (from about age eight), and later picked up guitar and song-writing, busking locally as teenagers.
Their music is known for balancing melancholy and wonder, songs build from delicate, intimate opening passages into richly layered, emotionally expansive climaxes. Their lyrics engage themes of love, grief, memory, nature, and the complexities of the inner self.
