About Casual Smart

Casual Smart are a young five-piece indie band from Cardiff who mix lo-fi anti-folk charm with soaring, emotionally driven bedroom-rock energy. Formed in mid-2023, the band already made waves with their debut single “It Doesn’t Get Any Easier”, which introduced their warm, homespun sound — guitars, soft vocals and heartfelt lyrics rooted in youth, nostalgia and honest feeling. Since then, they’ve pushed forward with tracks such as “Queen of Hearts” and “cranes”, the latter a dizzy, heart-spilling indie-rock ballad that layers piano, saxophone and wistful vocals to build something intimate yet expansive. 

On stage, Casual Smart deliver a beautiful blend of vulnerability and youthful energy. Despite their recent origins, they’ve already played sold-out shows, supported established acts like Porridge Radio and secured festival slots, bringing their mix of lo-fi intimacy and living-room-to-stage ambition to a growing fanbase. Their music — heartfelt, raw and full of emotional highs and lows — marks them out as one of the UK’s most charming and promising new indie voices.
