The French singer-songwriter and Oscar-winning composer behind some of Europe's most inventive vocal music, Camille has spent over two decades pushing the boundaries of chanson, experimental pop and beyond.
Camille has been one of France's most distinctive voices for more than twenty years. Self-taught and genuinely unclassifiable, she made her breakthrough with Le Fil (2005), a bold album structured around a continuous drone note that transformed the conventions of French chanson. A string of critically acclaimed records followed — Music Hole (2008), Ilo Veyou (2011) and OUÏ (2017) — each one blending vocal polyphony, body percussion, folk, jazz and experimental pop into something entirely her own. Live, her performances are immersive and electric, somewhere between trance and celebration.
Beyond music, Camille has carved out an equally remarkable career in film. She sang "Le Festin" for Ratatouille (2007), co-composed the score for The Little Prince (2015) alongside Hans Zimmer, and in 2024 co-wrote the soundtrack for Jacques Audiard's Emilia Pérez with her partner Clément Ducol. The song "El Mal" from that film won both a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
