Burglar is an alternative rock duo from Dublin, Ireland, formed by Willow and Eduardo after a chance meeting at college in 2021, where they bonded over a mutual love for artists like PJ Harvey and King Krule. Their unique sound reflects their contrasting backgrounds: Eduardo hails from the punk rock scene in Goiânia, Brazil, while Willow’s indie-pop experience in Dublin saw her perform with previous band Opal Lights at major festivals like Electric Picnic and Sea Sessions. Together, they’ve crafted a distinct and dynamic style, combining dissociative lyricism, confessional vocals, and layered harmonies with gritty guitars and pulsing synths.
Burglar has built a strong following on the Dublin music circuit throughout 2023 and 2024, drawing comparisons to influential bands like Fugazi, Slint, and Bloc Party. Their energetic live shows and raw, immersive sound landed them a showcase spot at Ireland Music Week at Crowbar Terrace, which they packed out with a captivated crowd. Following the success of their single “No Easy Way Out” released on 27th September, the duo is poised to make a lasting mark on the Irish alternative scene.
