Texan songwriter Buck Meek (Alexander Buckley Meek) is a distinctive voice in contemporary folk, blending intimate storytelling with warm, melodic guitar work. Born in Wimberley, Texas on 10th July 1987, he began his musical journey busking blues and folk numbers before performing in local venues. Seeking broader horizons, Meek moved to New York, where he co-founded the acclaimed indie-folk band Big Thief, gaining international recognition for his evocative playing and songwriting.
Alongside his work with Big Thief, Meek has forged a solo career marked by heartfelt, reflective albums. His eponymous debut solo record (Buck Meek, 2018) introduced listeners to his nuanced, introspective style, while follow-up Two Saviours (2021) expanded on these themes with richer arrangements and deeper lyrical exploration. With his warm tone, lyrical sensitivity, and understated virtuosity, Buck Meek continues to define the modern folk landscape.
