Between the Buried and Me have become celebrated figures in progressive metal, known for their technical prowess, conceptual albums and genre-blending soundscapes. Their tenth studio album, Colors II, arrived in August 2021, building on the legacy of its predecessor Colors with sweeping complexity and emotional depth. 2025's The Blue Nowhere, their first album with InsideOut Music, features vibrant string and horn arrangements and the striking singles “Things We Tell Ourselves in the Dark” and “Absent Thereafter”. The band now stand as a quartet following the departure of guitarist Dustie Waring.
They’ve toured extensively, bringing their fierce live energy to the UK. For example, they played at ArcTanGent Festival in August 2025, delivering their potent progressive metal to attentive UK crowds. Back in 2015, they also headlined a UK tour—performing in Southampton, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds and Nottingham—as part of a European run supporting the release of Coma Ecliptic. Whenever they appear on UK stages, their blend of technical mastery and passion leaves fans both moved and exhilarated.
