About Beaks

Beaks is the project of Vienna-based artist and writer Anna Francesca, who came to music from poetry and still treats words like an instrument. Blending indie, pop, punk and electronic textures with cool, deadpan vocals, her songs drift between waking life and dream logic — introspective, wry little snapshots that feel strangely intimate. She introduced the project in 2023 with her debut single "I Dropped the Bottle", swiftly followed by the Crosswalk EP on Australian label Sumoclic, and has since grown into something of a cult favourite.

There is more to Beaks than the music. Anna is a multidisciplinary artist who worked as an international model before turning to songwriting, walking for fashion houses including Chanel, Celine and Miu Miu — though she has always described modelling as a side quest. On stage she has carried her minimalist, immersive sound to cities including Tokyo, Berlin and her native Vienna, building a reputation as a distinctive live presence whose deadpan delivery and grooving basslines pull you straight into her world.
