Baby Keem (Hykeem Jamaal Carter Jr., born Oct 22, 2000) is an American rapper, singer, and producer raised in Las Vegas, known for his sharp lyricism, offbeat flows, and genre-blending production.

Emerging in the late 2010s, Keem quickly gained attention for his distinctive vocal style, which shifts between melodic cadences and aggressive delivery, and his knack for crafting minimalist yet hard-hitting beats.

He first built buzz with projects like The Sound of Bad Habit (2018) and DIE FOR MY BITCH (2019), the latter featuring the breakout single “Orange Soda,” which became a viral hit and helped establish him as one of hip-hop’s most promising young voices. In 2021, he released his debut studio album, The Melodic Blue, which debuted in the top 5 of the Billboard 200 and showcased his evolving artistry and experimental edge.

Baby Keem is also widely recognized for his creative partnership with his cousin, Pulitzer Prize–winning rapper Kendrick Lamar. The two collaborated on several tracks, including “Family Ties,” which won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance and further cemented Keem’s place in contemporary hip-hop.
