Icelandic indie-folk songwriter creating intimate, emotionally rich songs shaped by Nordic atmosphere and gentle honesty.
Axel Flóvent is an Icelandic indie-folk artist known for soft, introspective songs that blend Nordic melancholy with a warm, hopeful atmosphere. Raised in a musical family in Húsavík, he began sharing raw early demos that quickly drew attention for their emotional honesty and delicate detail. His breakout single “Forest Fires” has been streamed over 90 million times, introducing audiences worldwide to his gentle voice, intimate songwriting and ambient folk textures.
Drawing influence from artists such as Bon Iver and Adrianne Lenker, Axel’s music sits between quiet reflection and subtle uplift, shaped by spacious arrangements and heartfelt lyricism. After years living in Reykjavík, he returned to his hometown, continuing to craft songs rooted in stillness, nature and personal connection. With a sound that feels both deeply intimate and beautifully expansive, Axel Flóvent remains one of Iceland’s most captivating voices in modern indie-folk.
