Sharp, satirical comedy served with wit, warmth and legendary Pub Landlord swagger.
Al Murray is one of Britain’s most acclaimed stand-up comedians, celebrated for his razor-sharp wit, commanding stage presence and brilliantly crafted satire. Ranked the 16th greatest stand-up comic of all time by Channel 4 and featured in The Guardian’s list of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy, he has long been recognised as a master of his craft. Murray is best known for his iconic Pub Landlord character - a pitch-perfect parody of Little Englander bravado — through which he skewers xenophobia, nationalism and cultural nostalgia with quick-fire humour and theatrical flair. The character became a household name through the Sky One sitcom Time Gentleman Please and the hit ITV series Al Murray’s Happy Hour.
Beyond the bar-side bluster of the Pub Landlord, Murray is a versatile performer and writer who has collaborated with some of the UK’s most influential comedic voices. His early career included memorable work alongside Harry Hill, notably playing big brother Alan in The All-New Harry Hill Show, showcasing his skill for both character comedy and surreal humour. Whether on stage, television or radio, Al Murray continues to be a vital presence in British comedy - balancing satire, intelligence and crowd-winning charisma with effortless precision.
