About Welly

Welly is the brainchild of Southampton-based singer-songwriter Elliott, delivering a playful yet sharp-witted take on indie pop. With a sound that blends the energy of Fatboy Slim, the synth-driven hooks of The Human League, the cheeky charm of Rizzle Kicks, and the surreal humour of Harry Hill, Welly offers a refreshing alternative to the UK’s post-punk-heavy scene.

Backed by a tight-knit band—Joe and Matt on guitars, Jacob on bass, and Hannah on percussion and synths—Welly thrives on crafting songs that capture the humour and heart of everyday life. Their music is rooted in the experiences of ordinary towns, turning the mundane into something vibrant and relatable.

In early 2023, Welly released a live EP recorded in an empty village hall, capturing the raw energy of their performance. This was followed by a limited edition 7” single, "Home for the Weekend (Live in a Village Hall)", via Goo Records. Their growing reputation has led to upcoming live shows across the UK, with plans to bring their infectious sound to audiences in Bristol, Liverpool, and beyond.

With a knack for storytelling and a sound that’s equal parts nostalgic and fresh, Welly is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new acts on the UK indie scene.
