About Vic Mensa

Vic Mensa hits the UK to make his stunning live performance. The unmissable rapper released the EP There’s A Lot Going On as a prelude to his highly anticipated debut album The Autobiography.

Having released a huge amount of music this year, he now heads to the UK to make a major headline performance at Village Underground in London on Monday 23rd of October.

Victor Kwesi Mensah rose to prominence with the release of his first solo mixtape; Innanetape. His other work includes being a member of indie band Kids These Days, working with Damon Albarn on live performances of Gorillaz plus being the founder of hip hop collective Savemoney.

This year has been extremely busy. He has released two brand new EPs starting with There’s A Lot Going On through Roc Nation. Compelling and provocative, the record covers such issues as the Flint water crisis in which the people of Michigan are not being provided with adequately clean water and the murder of Laquan McDonald who was shot sixteen times in just thirteen seconds by Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke in November of 2015. The EP also features the vocal talents of Ty Dolla $ign whilst production was arranged by Mensah himself and shot straight to #1 of the Top Heatseekers Album Chart. It was followed by the highly successful second EP The Manuscript which featured work from Mr. Hudson and Pusha T.

This year has also seen the release of his incredible debt album The Autobiography which has enjoyed widespread critical and commercial acclaim.

"It’s a human album, It explores my humanity, mainly, and I leave that to the listener to make parallels to themselves. When I say that the album is my blood, sweat, and tears, and everything I’ve learned up to this point, it’s just because it literally is."
