What's On at The Hairy Dog, Derby – July 2026

The Hairy Dog is Derby's loudest and proudest home for live music, a 500-capacity grassroots venue tucked onto Becket Street in the heart of the city centre. It's been shaking the walls here since 2012, and a 2016 expansion added a ground-level gig room with a punchier PA, a new lighting rig and easier access throughout.

Expect a stage that's hosted Slaves and Sleaford Mods alongside a steady stream of touring names and rising local talent, plus a main bar, a games room and an outdoor area to escape the noise between sets. There's no dress code beyond common sense — no tracksuits or football shirts — which tells you most of what you need to know about the vibe: unpretentious, a bit scrappy, and proud of it.
