Since opening in 2013, Riff Factory has played an important role in Stoke-on-Trent’s grassroots music scene. Founded by local musicians Tom Carter and Ant Hulme, the venue was created to give artists a dedicated space to rehearse, record and collaborate — something that was previously limited in the area.
Over the years, Riff Factory has grown into more than just a rehearsal studio. It has become a creative hub where bands form, develop their sound and connect with other musicians, helping to shape the city’s independent music community.
In October 2025, Riff Factory expanded its offering with the launch of its own live venue, which officially opened on 26th October, with Static Dress headlining. With a capacity of 70, the venue delivers an intimate, high-energy live experience, supported by a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system and a fully licensed bar.
Today, Riff Factory continues to champion emerging talent through both its studio and live programme, cementing its place as a key part of Stoke-on-Trent’s music culture.
