TV Priest are a London post-punk band formed in 2019 by four childhood friends from Hackney Wick. After making music together since their teens, they reunited, played a handful of early shows and were quickly signed to the celebrated US label Sub Pop. Their debut album, Uppers (2021), announced them as a fierce, thoughtful voice in Britain's post-punk revival, built on jagged guitars, a heavyweight rhythm section and the commanding, spoken-word delivery of vocalist Charlie Drinkwater.
Second album My Other People (2022) widened their emotional range without losing any of their bite, cementing a reputation for music that wraps big existential and political questions in genuine warmth. Restless and forward-looking, the band returned in 2026 with the singles "The Mud Never Dries" and "Love Song (A Good Kind of Weapon)", pushing their sound into bolder, more electronic territory. Fiercely intelligent and thrillingly direct, TV Priest remain one of the most distinctive and rewarding live acts to emerge from the UK's recent post-punk wave.
