Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London - 13th November 2017

The gig started with a great set from The Suffers, a band worth the ticket price in their own right. I hadn’t seen Trombone Shorty before and wondered how he would top the support. I needn’t have worried. Non stop , fast and funky from the off. The pace never slackened .TS is a very charismatic performer. He sang, played Trombone and Trumpet and was a real star. He gave his band members numerous chances to shine, with solos and musical battles. The Alto sax player even did a break dance ! The crowd really engaged with him and I would say this was the most enjoyable gig I have attended this year . I can’t wait to see him again.

This really has the most remarkable musical talent that I have heard in a very long time!
And as ever he had his amazing band with him! Each number bought a surprise.....ranging from trad jazz to the hardest funk fusion! Can't wait til he returns to the UK!

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Omeara, 6 O'Meara St, London SE1 1TE, London - 26th May 2017

Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue are one of the tightest and most exciting bands you will ever see- fantastic solos, virtuoso performances on trombone and trumpet from Trombone Shorty and a non- stop thumping vibe.

"Trombone Shorty had clearly set out to present New Orleans as a city whose glory days aren't over... it was a signal that the city's music would push ahead."
The New York Times

The band - Mike Ballard on bass, Pete Murano on guitar, Joey Peebles on drums, Dan Oestreicher on baritone sax and Tim McFatter on tenor sax - stirs together old-school jazz, funk and soul, laced with hard-rock power chords and hip-hop beats, and they've added some tangy new ingredients on For True as they keep pushing the envelope, exploring new musical territory.
