Tom Misch blends chilled funk and breaks to his own unique pop sound. The South London sensation has now worked on tracks by Lianne La Havas, Kwabs and Busta Rhymes. He shot to attention after releasing his Beat Tape 2 when only 20 years old, the tracks were quickly sized upon by Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and Beat 1’s Julie Adenuga who immediately saw the young producer’s potential and saw him establish his name.
Getting into music as a child, Misch soon moved on from classical instruments to using loop sampler pedals with guitars. Building the layers and jamming to his own sound he began to gain a deeper understanding of music which would give him a taste for production.
As a teen he began releasing tracks through Soundcloud where his name began to spread across the net. His homemade beats started to become ever more in demand and so Misch created Beat Tape 1 and released it through his very own label Beyond The Groove.
Misch’s latest release will be his EP Reverie coming out in July of this year through the label Beyond The Groove.
“The Reverie EP is a result of me wanting to take slightly more of a role as a songwriter and singer," says Misch talking about the new EP. "It's the first release I sing on every track and hopefully indicates the direction I want to go for my debut album."
His debut album is expected to be released in the near future.
