Third World is one of reggae’s most enduring and influential bands, blending roots reggae with elements of soul, funk and R&B. Formed in Jamaica in 1973, the group gained international recognition with their hit “Now That We Found Love” (1978), a cover that became a global anthem. Their album 96° in the Shade (1977) remains a classic, telling powerful stories of resilience and resistance. Over the decades, they have continued to release music, including More Work to Be Done (2019), produced by Damian Marley, which showcases their signature fusion of conscious lyrics and infectious grooves.
Renowned for their electrifying live performances, Third World have played at some of the UK’s most prestigious festivals, including Glastonbury and the Notting Hill Carnival, where their uplifting rhythms and positive messages have captivated audiences.
