Pioneering post punk band The The are cited as being a huge influence on the Britpop and indie which followed in their wake. Led by Matt Johnson, The The grew from cult band to enjoy commercial success.

Now they make their very welcome return. Catch them when they take over Royal Albert Hall in London for three nights in June 2018.

They join the Skyline Series, playing Digbeth Arena in Birmingham and St. Philip’s Gate at Bristol during September 2018.

The band’s arrival onto the scene was heralded with the release of debut album Soul Mining in 1983 which contained their signature song This Is The Day. However, their first major success came three years later with their follow up album Infected. Remaining in the UK Album Charts for an incredible 30 weeks, it featured the singles Heartland, Infected, Slow Train To Dawn (featuring Neneh Cherry) and Sweet Bird Of Truth (featuring Anna Domino) which elevated it to Gold selling status.

Following albums Mind Bomb and Dusk broke the Top 10, with the latter hitting #2. Subsequent records include Hanky Panky, NakedSelf and Tony.
