THE SANCTUM FESTIVAL 2027
Friday 20 - Saturday 22 August 2027 | Birmingham, UK
Where ambition grows, where connections flow, where modern-metal thrives in the one true home of heaviness.
Welcome to THE SANCTUM FESTIVAL, Birmingham's premiere modern-metal multi-day festival, hosted beneath the sunlit canopy of Dead Wax Digbeth's intimate 300-capacity outdoor courtyard stage. We truly pride ourselves on our community spirit, uniting and welcoming bands and fans from every corner of the country and beyond.
For the very first time at THE SANCTUM FESTIVAL, we turn our gaze outside of the United Kingdom with the exclusive addition of German progressive post-hardcore unit Senna to the 2027 lineup.
Senna enter a new chapter with Out of the Blue, a first glimpse of a band speaking with greater clarity, presence and honesty. Building on the dynamic balance of atmosphere, melody and heaviness that drew praise around their debut Stranger To Love, this next step feels more defined in its emotional direction and at the same time, more open in the way those feelings are allowed to unfold. Reviews highlighted its dense atmosphere, emotional candour and thoughtful songwriting.
At the core of this new phase is a deep commitment to presenting themselves with greater rawness and authenticity. Senna give their songs more room to breathe, while keeping the musical intricacy that has always shaped their sound. Lyrics, vocals and instrumentation move from the same emotional centre, creating songs that feel intimate, expansive and deeply human. Out of the Blue captures that spirit in plain form, confronting fear of rejection and self-worth with a kind of honesty that turns vulnerability into connection.
Meanwhile, London metalcore accelerants Iridium arise from the depths of disturbance and reflection, relentlessly perfecting the art of growth through pain. Hailing from London, their songs naturally reflect the human experience of beauty within chaos. There is only a simple message to their music: self-acceptance.
