THE NONE is a bold new addition to the UK noise rock scene, formed in early 2023 by a group of seasoned musicians. The band features Gordon Moakes (Bloc Party, Young Legionnaire) on bass, Kai Whyte (Blue Ruth, Youth Man) on vocals, Jim Beck (Cassels) on guitar, and Chris Francombe (Frauds) on drums. Drawing on their diverse musical backgrounds, they craft a sound that blends raw, uncompromising noise with a strong melodic core. Their egoless, collaborative ethos is reflected in both their anonymous name and their intense, innovative approach to songwriting.
Since debuting live in February 2024, THE NONE have quickly gained a reputation as a must-see act, performing alongside bands like Mannequin Pussy, Les Savy Fav, and Dream Wife, as well as selling out headline shows. Their debut EP, MATTER (August 2024), released exclusively on Bandcamp, channels the energy of genre stalwarts like Shellac and The Jesus Lizard. The band will close the year supporting METZ on their final tour and Big Joanie, before preparing for a packed 2025 of new releases and extensive touring. THE NONE are a band unafraid to push boundaries, offering a visceral and thrilling live experience.
