MATT KENESON BAND

Dawson Smith is well known on the UK Blues / Americana scene as the high energy singer / songwriter / frontman of The Dissenters and as a highly regarded songwriter with five critically acclaimed, all original, solo albums to his name, all attracting glowing reviews and several of Dawson’s songs have been covered by other artists (James Oliver, Blues Swamp Southern, Bo’weevil Brothers and more).

Now comes the The Awesome Dawson Band. Following the loss of his wife, Dawson took a two year break from writing and performing and retired the Dissenters name. The Awesome Dawson Band came about from a chance meeting with Nashville singer / songwriter Ridge Banks who was on a short UK tour that was a collaboration between Ridge and a backing band made up of top players based around Leicester (Dawson’s adopted home town).

Once the Ridge Banks tour was over and Ridge returned to Nashville, his band known as The Wall Of Sound, contacted Dawson about fronting the band and performing his songs. Dawson was ready to get back to performing and had some new songs ready. Folling intense rehearsals and a new drummer the newly christened The Awesome Dawson Band (a long time nick name) entered the recording studio and recorded a corker of an EP! On A Train EP arrives on all platforms on Friday 4th September 2026. Available all outlets. All info available on www.Dawsonsmith.com https://www.facebook.com/dawson.smith.73/
