sundayclub are a dream-pop duo from Winnipeg, made up of Courtney Carmichael and Nikki St. Pierre. Formed in rural Manitoba, they began writing together as a way of making sense of early adulthood — that strange in-between feeling of growing up, growing apart and growing into your own skin. Their music leans on layered guitar, swells of reverb and Carmichael's soft, ghostly vocals, wrapping bittersweet songs in a warm, nostalgic haze they call "dreamy, gut-punch pop".
The pair's chemistry caught the ear of Stephen Carroll of Canadian indie-rock favourites The Weakerthans, who passed their music on to Paper Bag Records and helped land their first deal. Their debut EP Bannatyne (2025) earned them a place on Exclaim!'s "5 Emerging Canadian Artists You Need to Hear", and their self-titled debut album SUNDAYCLUB (2026) followed after a four-year labour of love. Songs like "Camera Shy" capture its fixation on the moment and the quiet pressure of being seen. UK fans got an early taste when sundayclub played The Great Escape in Brighton — proof that these intimate, cinematic songs carry beautifully to the stage.
