Fantastic Sporting Fun
Along we millions of others we were very disappointed and annoyed when the BBC ,in what turned out to be a futile attempt to attract a younger audience, sacked Sue, Matt and Phil. We booked seats way back in October 2024 and travelled from the far west of Cornwall for this opportunity to see them in action once again.
What a blast! It was amazing being so close to them (stalls row D) that we could even count the wrinkles on Tuffers' face.
The staging was perfect and the use of projection to shows us intimate moments in Phil's and Matt's careers almost raised the roof for the fifteen hundred of us thoroughly engaged with their antics. The three of them have aged very well and polished their comic timing to great effect. It was wonderful to see Sue holding her own with these two eccentric performers.
It was non-stop laughter and the standing ovation at the end went on for a very long time.
If only the Director General of the BBC had been there to realise how foolish he had been to cancel them!
On the other hand, he would probably have had them and us arrested for copyright violations and taking the mickey out of our national broadcaster!
