Sonique, born Sonia Marina Clarke in London, is a British singer, musician, and DJ renowned for her dynamic presence in the dance music scene. She first gained prominence as a member of the dance band S'Express in the early 1990s. Transitioning to a solo career, Sonique achieved significant success with her debut album, Hear My Cry (1998), which was re-released in 2000. The album featured the chart-topping single "It Feels So Good", which dominated the UK Singles Chart for three weeks in May and June 2000. This track became the UK's third best-selling single of that year. Following this success, she released other notable tracks, including "Sky" and a rendition of "I Put a Spell on You". In recognition of her contributions to music, Sonique was honoured with the BRIT Award for British Female Solo Artist in 2001.
Beyond her recording achievements, Sonique is celebrated for her unique blend of powerful vocals and DJing skills, creating unforgettable club experiences. She has been a resident DJ at the renowned Manumission club in Ibiza and has collaborated with artists such as William Orbit and Josh Wink.
